Looking for the Music for Elation

I am researching what music I will have playing for Elation.

Should it be classical, jazz, alternative, pop....???

I have learned that after the brainstorming of ideas ... it is important to remember to keep it simple. I want the music to appeal to many. I have a deep connection to the Hebrew language, yet English is more universal.

So...here is a video of Feist's music in the song 1234 with bright colors and a spiral choreography evoking the joy of joining life. The hole will have a pulsating type of hearbeat, (the existence in the hole has the music of a fetus-like existence). The music above has the sounds and joy of life going on outside in the world of interaction.

FEIST 1234
one, two, three, four, tell me that you love me more.
sleepless, long nights.
sighs, what my youth was for.
oh, teenage hopes arrive at your door
left you with nothing, but they want some more
oh, oh, oh,you're changing your heart.
oh, oh, oh,you know who you are.
sweetheart, bitter heart, now i can't tell you apart.
cozy and cold,
put the horse before the cart.
those teenage hopes, who have tears in their eyes.
too scared to run off,to one little life.

oh, oh, oh,you're changing your heart.
oh, oh, oh,you know who you are.
one, two, three, four, five, six, nine, and ten.
money can't buy you back the love that you had then.
one, two, three, four, five, six, nine, and ten.
money can't buy you back the love that you had then.
oh, oh, oh, you're changing your heart.
oh, oh, oh,you know who you are.
oh, oh, oh,you're changing your heart.
oh, oh, oh,you know who you are.

I was thinking that the happy sounds of children playing in a playground might work for the above ground part of Elation. There's something so joyous about children laughing, so welcoming and hopeful and universal.

Kate,

Hmmm. Nice idea. Might think to include this. Thank you for posting it.

Nancy:

Perhaps the music could be distinctly human voices in a litany of positive words--yes, wonderful, soothing, peaceful, warmth, et al.

Hi Nancy,
I just saw your comment about Chaja Goldstein on my blog.Thanks.
I don't know of any footage of her work. But if I find anything. I'll be sure to post it. I wasn't sure the best way to contact you. This is all pretty new to me.
