I added a link to Larry's site. I saw him perform many times and was struck by the connection of butoh to mime. There is a powerful emotional force emitted in this dance form from Japan.
Larry and I studied mime with Jacqueline Rouard, an artist/teacher who studied with Etienne Decroux ( the man who is credited with creating the grammar of mime) at the same time as Marcel Marceau.
